Capital Bank offers a comprehensive set of banking solutions in Iraq through its subsidiary, the National Bank of Iraq (NBI), in which it owns a 72.3% controlling stake, enabling its customers in both Jordan and Iraq to conduct their business in either country with ease. Capital Bank is the only bank in Jordan that enables customers to trade in the Iraqi market through Capital Investment’s counters and NBI’s brokerage house.

Some of the services that Capital Bank offers through NBI include:

  • Trading on behalf of clients in international markets
  • Trading on behalf of clients in the Baghdad Stock Exchange through NBI’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Wahat Al-Nakheel
  • Purchasing transfers from the Iraqi Central Bank’s on behalf of clients
  • Loans in all forms including loans for large and small projects, housing loans, car loans, and personal loans
  • Internal transfer services in Iraqi dinar and US dollar
  • External transfer services to all parts of the world and in all major currencies
  • Domestic and foreign bonds
  • Incoming and outgoing LCs
  • Corresponding with foreign banks with regards to transferring clients’ assets in foreign banks to their accounts in NBI through Capital Bank

NBI has three branches in Baghdad (Al-Saadoun Street main branch, Ragheba Khatoon branch and Al-Ghadeer branch), besides branches in Erbil, Mosul, Karbala, and Basra. An additional branch is currently being set up in Sulaymaniyeh.
